Tourists who ventured into the desert here had a totally unexpected encounter with the Dubai Ruler himself when the tourist’s vehicle got stuck in the desert while offroading in the dunes outside the city.

A Mexican woman identified as Hannah Karen Arroyo, wrote on her Twitter account on Saturday about the incident, along with the photos.

It emerged that it was His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rahid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who initiated the move to help pull them out of the dunes, where their vehicle was stuck while offroading.

She tweeted: “My friend and I got stuck on the desert of Dubai, and we have been rescued by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid.”

According to Arroryo, Shaikh Mohammad was passing by along with team when he saw them stranded in the dunes. Shaikh Mohammad promptly ordered his associates to help the family to pull the vehicle.

One picture shared by Arroyo shows a young boy in Emirati dress running towards them while another man pulled a high-strength cable and hooked it up to a white Mercedes Benz G-class vehicle with the “Dubai No. 1” car plate in the background.

a young local boy helped out, attaching a tether to the front of the Honda and linking it to the back of the ruler’s G-Wagen

The stranded vehicle was pulled out of the soft sand and the tourists then graciously took a souvenir picture with Shaikh Mohammad in appreciation for his help.

One photo posted by Arroyo shows Shaikh Mohammad with her group on the edge of an asphalt road. The gesture reflects Shaikh Mohammad’s kindness and sublime spirit towards strangers.

This is not the first time that residents in Dubai have been through the same circumstances and received help from Shaikh Mohammad. A few months ago, three foreign women revealed that Shaikh Mohammad rescued them after their motorbike experienced breakdown in the desert of Dubai.
